綿綿若存走岷江

“周而复始” 何成瑶个展将于2015年09月08日晚07:30在草场地艺琅国际隆重开幕，20:00-21:00何成瑶现场行为创作。本次展览将展出何成瑶2015年间用针、马克笔记录的时间作品，一秒扎一针或一秒点一个点，用“秒”这个刻度记录时间，记录时间自身的形状。此次展览作品有十几个小时的小点的圆形作品，也有三十几个小时的大的圆形作品，更有长三米达八十几个小时的长方形作品。除此之外还有一分钟、十分钟、一小时的小作品展出，可在时光中慢慢品味何成瑶的作品。

何成瑶用针扎来记录时间的作品是从2013年从藏区支教回汉地后开始的，每天重复不断地在一秒钟扎一下，这是对艺术家持久力、耐力、意志力的一种考验。何成瑶描述：单调记录时间的创作不仅是对她身心极限的一种挑战，也是一种形而上的精神感受，是超越极限后是另外一种状态。

何成瑶1964年出生于中国重庆，1989年毕业于四川美术学院师范系，2000—2001年期间曾在中央美术学院油画系当代艺术研修班进修一年，2000年开始工作、生活于北京。

Round and Round: Solo Exhibition of He Chengyao

Round and Round: The Solo Exhibition ofHe Chengyao will be open at 7:30 p.m. on September 8,2015 atArtaste in Caochangdi Village, on the opening night, He Chengyao will also present a live performance between20:00-21:00. A whole range of He Chengyao’sartworks about time made in 2015 will be displayed. When working on it, foreach second, the artist made a pinhole using the needle or left a mark usingthe marker pen. In the process, she applied “second” as the scale to recordtime passing, recording the “pattern” of time itself at the meantime. Amongst all the artworks, there is round-shaped workconsisting of tiny pinholes which took the artist more than 10 hours, there isalso larger work that consumed over 30 hours, furthermore, there will also be showcasing a workmeasuring 3 meters and taking up to 80 hours to complete. Meanwhile, some smaller works recording from 1 minute, 10minutes to 1 hour will also be on display. Audience are warmly welcome to theexhibition to savor each of He Chengyao’s works all about time.

Started working on the time-recordingseries using needle from September of 2013, every day, He Chengyao repeatedlymade a pinhole each second, it challenged her endurance, stamina and willpoweras well. As she says, mechanically recording the time is not just a bigchallenge physically and mentally, it is also a kind of metaphysical experienceto her, pushing back the boundaries, it’d be different.

He Chengyao, born in Chongqing in 1964,graduated from department of art teaching of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. From2000 to 2001, He attended a Contemporary Art program in Oil Painting Departmentof Central Academy of Fine Arts, she lives and works in Beijing since 2000.

He Chengyao’s major work includes liveperformance, photograph and video recording. Her works have been widelyexhibited and collected in China, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom, Korea,Thailand, Canada, Singapore, Ireland, Taiwan, United States, Finland, HongKong, Serbia, Spain, Germany, Romania, Macau, Greece, Slovenia, Belgium,France, Sweden, Poland, India, Brazil and Israel.
